Video: Australian Deaf Games, Perth, 1970-71

Footage from the Australian Deaf Games in Perth, held in 1970-71 – social events, WA Deaf Society building, a motel, a cityscape, a ferry trip, some races, a group photo, lawn bowls, tennis, netball, feeding bears at a zoo, a railway station and a train trip. It looks like some of the footage might actually be from the 1973-74 games (see Archival Footage 9).

Welcome to the Deaf History Collections

We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visitors to our site, recognising the long, rich, complex and unjustly disregarded histories of First Nations peoples in Australia.
