A booklet for teaching fingerspelling and basic signs, printed by the Australian Federation of Deaf Societies from 1967 to 1977, commonly used in Deaf Societies around the country. Adapted from a similar booklet published in the UK. Although the photographs of the signers in the booklet were taken from the UK edition, the woman in the photographs is actually an Australian – Jean Maley from Perth, WA. Jean was living in the UK during the 1950s, working as a fashion model and appearing on children’s TV… and being photographed for a booklet on British Sign Language!
